Take Action
A few things you can do this week
On March 24, when NYC Public Schools released its draft AI policy, it also announced a 45-day community engagement to gather input from families, teachers, and students. This period ends May 8, and in the meantime they need to hear from all those families in our district who don’t want our children enrolled in a billion-dollar experiment to automate education. If you need help understanding or talking about the policy, we’ve written these notes on some particularly worrying aspects of it.
Complete the NYCPS Stakeholder Feedback Survey
The multiple-choice questions are absurdly narrow, but the survey ends with an open-text box you can use to express your criticism of the policy and the DOE’s entire process. (tip: First compose your comments in a different app, like Notes or TextEdit, and then paste it in. The text box is small, but it doesn't have a word limit.)
